Minecraft Realms is a new feature added in the Redstone Update. Realms allow for small, paid public servers hosted by Mojang. Around 100 players were randomly selected to test Realms with the update.
Minecraft provides the player with an option to host a server that can run 24/7 even when the player is not active. The player will have complete control and customisation powers over this server.
