SEOUL -- LG Chem has unveiled plans to build a plant in Poland for lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, as the South Korean company seeks to cut transport costs to auto factories in Europe.

WARSAW, Oct 5 (Reuters) - South Korea's LG Chem will invest 1.3 billion zlotys ($338.66 million) in a new electric vehicle battery plant in Poland by 2018, Poland's economy ministry said on Wednesday.
